Dark Feminine

How to be a successful person

Are you calibrated to the energy of success? If you opened this link, it’s likely that you are not.
You are always calibrating to something. You are either calibrating to expansion, or you are calibrating to limitation. And if your first thought when thinking of a successful person is to think of someone outside of you that you can emulate, then you are calibrating to limitation.

But since you’re here, I know you are doing it from a place of desiring expansion, so forgive me for the clickbait title, by the end of this blog post you will have shifted your energy around success. What you do then is up to you.

The truth about success

This is the answer to a question from a participant in Shadow Journey when I did a Q&A box about identity work on Instagram: what is a successful person and what do they do?
It came off the back of me talking about how it’s conditioning to think in terms like you have to get up early to be successful, which I have heard on a podcast I was listening to as part of my rotation to expand to a 7-figures mindset.

You might be an early riser and so it doesn’t feel like an arbitrary constraint on your freedom, but it is for me who has a bigger audience in the US than I do the UK, and that’d be more aligned if I was already in Tokyo but while I’m still in London I’m just working late.

The point is, as they say, all roads lead to Rome. If you believe that’s what you have to do to be successful, then you will block yourself from feeling successful unless you live that lifestyle.

If success feels like the obvious byproduct of your energetic alignment, then you may still get up early because it works for you, but it’s coming from an energy of putting the identity of a successful person on the inside.

The problem with self-worth in high achievers

Success is not a fixed state. We have things in our society that we consider successful, usually money or fame, but if you think about how people react when a tragedy strikes a celebrity, it tends to be platitudes around how money and fame don’t really matter that much at the end of the day.

If you’re in my community, chances are you see money as a means to an end. You want to make a big impact, but do so while living a life that feels satisfying and has spaciousness (you wouldn’t be into manifestation if you just wanted what you could get with hustle so far).

Once you are aware of what’s possible, you build a level of confidence in it that leads you to ask for it, so that’s why being calibrated to success from energetics is important if you want a feminine business.

That’s not to say that you have no place for strategy or actually showing up and doing the work, part of why I get to raise the middle finger at the idea that I’m not embodying a 7-figures earner if I sleep in is that as a Manifestor in Human Design I have built the systems that allow me to operate from my energetics.

And that required a lot of work not only on my identity to hold it, but also to build a brand that is clear, memorable, and referable. It has to work for me when I don’t, same as the money I invest to achieve my desired net worth.

Identity vs Results

Our society is built around achievements being what validates us. It’s easy not to feel like we are successful when we are chasing clients and never truly above the survival line. And that’s the issue, since manifestation is about embodying the energy of the person who has the result even when the result is a vision far removed.

Nobody likes to buy from people who give them the ick, and if you are desperate for a sale even if you may not act in the sleazy ways commonly taught in some business circles, you are not projecting the confidence in yourself and your product that would make your client feel safe investing even if your copy is on point.

It’s the same energy as the husband who never follows through on his word telling you he will definitely do that thing you asked him to do for weeks. Do you trust him? You might give him a chance again but likely you don’t, deep down, feel the trust. I learnt it the hard way.

Receiving energy vs owning energy

Most manifestation advice keeps you in a state of wanting, with all the visualising or waste of time methods like the 3-6-9 or 33 x 3. The same goes for a lot of healing and shadow work advice out there.

It’s easy to fall into toxic healing patterns where we perpetuate struggles, which is different from undergoing painful initiations that were necessary. The medicine of an initiation is to find our deeper power and remember who we are, what many would call “our divinity”.

And when you manifest something you manifest the steps to get there. If the gap is huge, that’s when you get the deepest initiations. But if you are not integrating and becoming embodied in the lessons, but instead you are always looking at yourself as a problem to fix, then you are keeping yourself stuck.

The trifecta of Manifestation

I have 3 pillars of my manifestation practice that I use with my coaching clients and on my podcast: Alignment – Embodiment – Expansion.

Alignment is about self-awareness. That’s where tools like Astrology and Human Design can be powerful mirrors to see who we are underneath the layers of what people tell us we are.

Then we have embodiment, which is about feeling our feelings and connecting with our inner authority and our eroticisim (which is life force energy), whether or not we have a defined Sacral in Human Design.

Having a Goddess Complex

Pleasure is the guiding light of my life. It’s not just about sex, although I’m a recognised authority on sex magic and constantly under request that I should teach about it. It’s more broadly about the quest for a good life.

The English word pleasure comes from the French plaisir, “source of enjoyment, pleasing quality or thing, that which pleases or gratifies the senses or the mind,” which also means “discretion, will, desire, preference,” from the Latin placere.

Hedonism, however, did not enter the vocabulary until the 19th century, when it became a word to talk about the Greek philosophy specifically. The word hedone came to us through the Latin Suavis, which gave us the words sweet and suave. And it was, in fact, a name. The name of a Greek goddess.

The daughter of Eros (personification of love) and Psyche (personification of the soul), and a personification of sensual pleasure (Taurus vibes).

The Goddess Complex is about more than gold dresses and luxury. It’s your self-centred era.

Holding the vision when  the 3D is lagging behind

Success comes from Latin and is about the idea of an outcome that follows something. You need a goal to meet to be successful. That leads to walking a fine line with seeking external validation and attaching our worth to outcomes. But success is also a frequency.

i don’t just mean specifically what number you should write on Spotify with “solfeggio” (432 hz, if you’re wondering). It’s about your own energy as you move through life. And that’s the point of identity work.

Identity or Self-Concept Work

Identity work is the emotional process wherein a person is developing, maintaining or changing their identity. For the purpose of Manifestation, or even just starting a business really, it’s most likely a form of change.

There is more to it than just our self-concept as the person who has the reality that is for our present self just a vision (which by definition is not in the material). For example, there have been studies done around the intrapersonal conflict individuals may experience between their “creator” and “leader” identities when transitioning to managerial roles in creative settings, which those of us with a creative business likely know too well.

All of my programmes are, at their core, identity work, because who we think we are shapes the things we do and achieve. In Shadow Journey, we use shadow work to journey through the 3 stages of the feminine at the heart of the Eleusinian Mysteries. In 7 Sins, 7 Powers, we use psychodrama to reframe the energy that Christian cultural hegemony has deemed dangerous to our souls. And Vixen builds upon those principles to create powerful personal brands that have the expanded capacity for more visibility.
