As a witchy business owner, I believe in working with the rhythms of the cosmos to organise our lives and businesses, so each month I explore the key transits and how they affect us.
A Fresh Start with the New Moon in Aquarius
The New Moon on the 9th will be in Aquarius, in the final quadrant of the wheel, the quadrant of maturity. Covering the 10th, 11th, and 12th house, the quadrant focuses on interpersonal and collective themes. The signs of Capricorn, Aquarius, and Pisces all have to do with our role in the grand scheme of things. Aside from the south node, and later in the month the Moon, all the planets at present are between Capricorn and Taurus, so the signs ruling from the 10th to the 2nd house.
The time leading to the new moon is a really good time to look at what we need to shed for personal growth. With so much action in Aquarius, we see a pull towards how we relate to the collective through our authenticity, and affect change that way. It could be anything big or small depending on what you feel called to, but if you have a business that’s one new moon that you definitely want to mark and use for vision-casting both the year and the future. Pluto will be in the sign for about 20y, so if 5-10y plans feel aligned, it’s a great time to make them.
Shaking Up Our Business Values
Uranus will be in a trine with Venus at this lunation, so if there is something that needs shaking up with regards to the themes of this planet now it’s a good time. On Feb 5th Mercury will enter Aquarius, transiting Pluto on the way in at 0º 30 minutes, so it will be in the sign at the time of the New Moon, reinforcing the themes around marketing and communication, as well as sales and commerce.
Mars is in the last degrees of Capricorn, preparing to enter Aquarius on the 13th, followed by Venus on the 16th. The sun will then move into Pisces on the 19th, followed by Mercury on the 23rd. The full moon in Virgo at 5 degrees will be the next day, on the 24th, at 12.30pm UK time.
In the period between the two lunations, we will be mostly seeing aspects within Aquarius itself, except for Venus in a sextile with Neptune while still in Capricorn on the 13th. The most activity will be with Taurus, so we’re looking at squares. The technical name is hard aspects, but I tend to subscribe to the view that it isn’t black and white.
Shifting from Aquarius to Pisces
While certainly there’s a tension between the Air vibes of collectivist Aquarius and the liminal waters of Pisces, where the division between collective and individual goes to die in the realisation that ultimately we’re all fragments of the same whole, it doesn’t have to be a difficult relationship.
We can’t shoot an arrow without tension in the bow. Likewise, a lot of growth in the birth chart can be found in balancing the different approaches of different signs and planets as they interact on an energetic level.
With an Aquarius stellium for the majority of the month, the focus will shift towards whatever in your personal chart falls under this sign. In a way, it can overpower the tendency of Taurus to ground us, which can be a good thing if you have a tendency to never look at things with the bird’s eye view.
The Transformative Power of Pluto
Especially with Pluto now in Aquarius for a few months before returning retrograde to the anaretic degree of Capricorn, tying the final loose ends, we’re seeing the impetus to look at the things we don’t usually want to look at.
Glimpses of our higher self are being shown to us to illuminate what needs to go and what needs to come in for these visions to actualise. Conversely, if your tendency is to live too much in the vision and not enough in the action, the presence of Jupiter and Uranus in Taurus can provide you the groundedness needed to bring those visions into the material plane, for the good of the collective.
Setting visions from our Higher Self
Saturn will still be in Pisces for a few months, also bringing this energy of balance and discernment between illusions and visions to the month ahead, and the New Moon in Aquarius in particular.
Another transit to look at for the personal energetics, which in turn affect our business, is the conjunction between the North Node and Chiron in Aries, which will be exact over the 18th and 19th of February. Their energies are already at play at the time of the New Moon and the few days ahead as the conjunction approaches, and it again brings up the theme of finding the courage to follow your own path and step into your authenticity.
Stepping into CEO energy with the New Moon in Aquarius
A theme that has come up over and over in my sphere is stepping into CEO energy, with the conversation around what that means as an embodied feminine leader when the archetype of the CEO is one strongly associated with a specific experience of masculine energy.
While there are some things I could say about this from a general standpoint, the current energy directs us towards answering this question for ourselves. How does CEO energy look when we build our businesses to support us as individuals?
February 2024 is a key month for everyone, since all the planets entering Aquarius will transit Pluto, the planet of transformation. There is potential for big shifts and life-changing situations if you are willing to face the things that are hard to face, integrate them, and go after what matters to you.
