With 3 months to go until 2024, there is no better time to harness the energetic shifts of this month for your business. Pluto stationing direct, 3 planets entering Scorpio, an eclipse portal, and today Venus entering Virgo.
If you are interested in more details about how to work with these energies in your personal life, make sure to look for Starry Sky and Witchy Things wherever you get your podcasts. Every New and Full Moon I publish an astrological update for the two weeks to follow.
Today I will talk specifically about Venus and her month in the Earth sign of Virgo.
Venus is a key planet to work with as a business owner, whether you actively practise magic or want to just keep on top of things in a more interesting way.
Venus is more than just a goddess of love, although the Libra and 11th house themes of relationships are key to business success. She is also more than a bougie queen of self-care, as the 2nd House and Taurus bring us back to the material world of sensuality and pleasure (not just sexual, and arguably not sexual at all but that’s a whole other conversation…).

Venus rules the Throat Chakra, as well as the more obvious Heart one, therefore ruling over our self-expression, including the expression of our feelings. And it also embodies the energy of the Divine Feminine, which is about surrender and openness to receiving. For those who are into Manifestation, the place of “I don’t chase, I attract” that we seek to balance with the practical and masculine energy sides of running a business that we can’t avoid.

Another side of Venus that is often overlooked is that she is a powerful energy to bring things to completion. And this, along with the inner sense of worthiness that underlies her connection with prosperity, makes her transit in Virgo the perfect time for business owners seeking to slow down to speed up instead of rushing and hustling to end 2023 on a high note.
Virgo is a mutable earth sign, ruled by Mercury, and which is associated with the 6th house which encompasses our day to day lives and health. While the Mars transit this summer was a great time for action on decluttering (our systems and our spaces etc), Venus is a planet that shows us how to take our time.
Combined with the sign of being detailed-oriented and practical, and Jupiter retrograde in Venus-ruled Taurus forming a trine on the 22nd, the time is primed for stopping as much active business as reasonably possible in order to focus on the back end and those more mundane tasks that save time, money, and energy down the line (like having your Standard Operating Procedures up to date, making sure you don’t have dead weight in your mailing list, or are paying for tools you don’t need and forgot about, and filing your taxes by Jan 31st if you’re in the UK).
It’s also a good idea to set some time aside for reviewing our existing systems even if they are good, because even good things can come to a point where they no longer serve us. The upcoming New Moon in Libra is an eclipse, which magically is a chaotic energy, and while that is not a bad thing (even though we often feel like when things are out of our control it is a bad thing) it may not be a time you want to set new goals and intentions if you are in the practice of setting intentions by the lunar cycle.

If you have some goals you want to manifest for your business, it’s a good idea to take some of this time free of new intentions to work on, and make actual space in the calendar for activities into nature, especially soothing activities that connect us with the body.
A regulated nervous system is one of your best business assets at all times, but during any significant transit in an Earth sign it connects to magic more directly than ever. With Venus and her lesson of inherent worth and not needing to earn our rest and pleasure not being a treat for a job well done but the natural state of things for human beings more than with other planets.
If you’re still working on decluttering your systems from the Mars transit (no judgement, I’m too!), this transit is an invitation to look at creating spaciousness to receive: what tasks can be delegated or outright dropped from everyone’s plates? How can we make our life easier in the things we cannot avoid?
With the upcoming shifts to Scorpio, it’s also a good time to look at our shadow work as business owners. Are there areas where we are leaking energy? Are we fully embodying our potential or still living from a limiting energy? Are there situations where we are letting pride get in the way of growth?
There are so many directions in which to take this self-exploration, and your intuition will guide you towards the right one for you if you pay attention to what comes up in your day to day life. In fact, creating the space for things to surface rather than forcing us to think of things we need to work on could be a good way to approach this transit, especially if you’re usually very type A about self-development.
